Why the work matters
Why this work became personal
My commitment grew from seeing a family-business loss despite capable people and professional advice. Intentions, documents and financial arrangements existed; professionals had completed their assignments. What was missing was one view of how those decisions should work together through transition, and the follow-through to make it real.
Who is responsible for ensuring that the family’s separate arrangements will actually hold together when the founder is unavailable?
That question led to Family Continuity Architecture: making decisions explicit and coordinating the family and its professionals around one continuity brief.
The work I lead
I lead the Family Continuity Diagnostic for connected questions, or a Continuity Capital Review for a clear, separable obligation. Further architecture and implementation coordination require a separate agreement.
Responsibilities remain distinct
The family decides. I connect decisions, dependencies and the agreed work. Appointed professionals advise and execute within their disciplines.
At the start, clarify whose perspective is needed and who has authority for the decision. A family member who raises a concern may need different people involved before it can be settled.
How I stay involved
A first conversation helps establish the right starting point. I remain involved in separately agreed architecture or implementation coordination.
